From The President All those who attended August’s dinner at the Ventris Trail’s End Resort had a great meal and a wonderful time! Jody even serenaded us with a number of songs! Unfortunately, I neglected to bring my camera so I have no pictures to include. The annual Poker Run was its usual big success thanks to Len and Geri Oswald and David and Linda Brummett who helped hang the bags on the docks. Bill and Lois Stockhaus took the first place trophy and $50.00 prize. Len and Geri Oswald won the second place prize of $30.00 and George Merwin accepted the third place prize of $20.00. Geny Handley got the booby prize and will have the pleasure of the singing Billy Bass for one year (what a fall – she took first place last year!).

If you’ve attended a party at Marilyn’s in the past, you know that it is an event that you don’t want to miss! Marilyn lives at 64 Riviera Dr., Rogers, and her phone is 925-1886.
Marilyn
is providing pork and buns as well as beer, wine, lemonade, and
tea. She’s asking you to bring an appetizer, side dish, or dessert
and any special drinks you prefer. September 24th, Saturday, S’Mores and dogs on the shore Len and Geri Oswald have volunteered their dock and beach for S’Mores and dogs on the shore again this year. It will be at 5:00 PM. They will be providing the S’Mores “fixins”. They’d like you to bring potluck to share and your own hotdogs and drinks. They live at 6 Sager Drive, Rogers, and you can drive directly to their dock with these instructions: Take Rivercliff off Hwy 12, go one mile – you’ll see tennis courts up ahead on the left, take the gravel road (left) just before Sager – it goes directly to the Oswald’s dock.
September 28th, Wednesday, 5:30 PM, evening Ad-Hoc meeting on George’s dock, potluck and BYOB. The meeting will be at our home, 16 Acapulco Dr., Rogers, if the weather is bad.
Up-Coming Events October 8th, Saturday, 9:00 AM, meet flotilla at the Hwy 12 Bridge for a run to Blue Springs. How long has it been since you went on a long boat ride to see and explore portions of the lake you probably haven’t seen or been to in quite some time? Well here is your opportunity! Ray Moore will “take point” on a boat trip from the Hwy 12 bridge to the Hwy 412 bridge and beyond to Blue Springs depending upon the water level. This will be an all day boat trip, so bring lunch and drinks and possibly extra gas (there are a couple of marinas along the way where you can buy gas but it will be at a premium).The flotilla will stop at the Hickory Creek Marina going and coming for a “potty break”, and will beach on shore for lunch. We will meet at the Hwy 12 bridge at 9:00 AM. This is a great opportunity to actually use your own boat and “burn the carbon out of it”, but if you want to go and don’t want to use your boat, check around to see who will be going and see if you can tag along! You can RSVP to, and get any other details from, Ray Moore at 470-925-2606.
October 22nd, Saturday, 2:00 PM, Fall Foliage trip from George’s dock with dinner potluck and BYOB. George will be taking his boat out for this. We’ll line up a couple of pontoon boats as well in the event that there are more going than George’s boat can accommodate. We’ll make a decision when the group assembles as to whether or not we tie up together on the lake and eat dinner or come back to the dock to eat.

October 28-29th, Friday & Saturday, 9:00AM – 3:00PM. Terri Brown garage sale you can participate in.
Terri Brown is having a garage sale at her home – 8138 Ironwood Court, Rogers – on October 28th and 29th (Friday & Saturday) from 9:00AM to 3:00PM. She has invited anyone in the Boat Club that wants to participate and sell their “stuff” to join her. She asks that you bring your own chair and snacks and have your stuff priced and have change. Call Terri at 479-586-5583 to let her know that you want to participate and to work out the details and coordination. She will be having a potluck, BYOB, on Saturday following the garage sale.
